Automated Asset Transfer: Throughout the software development lifecycle, project leads, build engineers, and release managers need to transfer code, baselines, and other assets for various purposes, such as testing, staging and production. Historically, performing these tasks involved unsecured, untraceable, manual processes that are expensive to maintain, difficult to scale, and prone to costly downtime. With ChangeMan Mover, you automate the deployment of your files and folders across your entire network.
Centralized Control: ChangeMan Mover centralizes server setup, deployment mapping, asset selection, and scheduling into a single browser-based interface. This significantly reduces manual setup costs and subsequent maintenance, and eliminates the need for multiple deployment scripts.
Scheduling: Deployment tasks can be scheduled to start at any time, making it easy to coordinate deployments in advance of deadlines. Regular activities, such as the transfer of nightly development builds to QA, can also be scheduled to complete automatically. Pre-deployment and Post-deployment Commands: ChangeMan Mover facilitates running executables, such as batch files or command line actions, as part of a pre-deployment or post-deployment activity, either on the originating ChangeMan Mover Server, or on deployment destination servers. This capability is useful for compiling code such as JAR files post-deployment on the target server, or for initiating subsequent processes such as distribution by Tivoli or Microsoft SMS after deployment.
Simple Asset Selection: Seamless integration with Serena ChangeMan Dimensions and Serena Version Manager makes it easy to select assets for transfer. ChangeMan Mover can also transfer assets from any third-party SCM products.
Secure FTP Deployment: ChangeMan Mover ensures protection of digital assets when deploying to an FTP server. ChangeMan Mover deploys assets through firewalls, using a number of secure communication protocols, including SOCKS4/5 and Secure Sockets Layers (SSL).
Command Line Interface: The ChangeMan Mover command line interface permits remotely controlled asset deployment operations from applications such as ChangeMan Dimensions or other SCM applications.
